We are only equal in the grave and in the dark Said a man whose head was halfway eaten by a shark You might ask me why I would continue on like this I doubt that I would know—I could only make a guess Half a mouth may not be much but it’s still half a kiss

about

These are the mostly primitive, sometimes beautiful, often noisy, occasionally minimal, and alternatingly pretentious and humble origins of Knoll’s recorded output.

Please note that the original masters for tracks 2 and 8 have been lost and therefore we have had to make do with decade-old 128 kbps MP3 files as sources, which means that for those tracks, even lossless downloads are transcoded and lossy downloads (MP3, Vorbis, AAC, as well as the stream) are transcoded twice.

The immediately locatable band members took a vote and the majority decided that a botched release was better than no release, and furthermore they noted that this particular brand of sonic degradation may in fact enhance the release’s “concept”—a word they use begrudgingly. Further evidence of this “concept” can be seen in the heavy JPEG compression artifacts and low resolution of the original cover art.

The computer could not be reached for comment.

Please accept my most heartfelt apologies for this lack of fidelity. MIDI files for tracks 2 and 8 are included with complete downloads.
